Martin Bamberger
For more than 30 years I have worked designing products and automated assembly tools for markets including semiconductor, EV, automotive, consumer electronics, medical, electrical and visual testing, and apparel. I believe that not all processes should be automated, but when done thoughtfully, automation opens up product and production opportunities not otherwise possible. Automation should go hand in hand with manual labor; one of the challenges is making them work seamlessly together.
Much of my career has been spent working with companies to optimize their products for manufacturing and assembly, a step that is often overlooked, or only addressed when the product development is mostly complete. I derive great satisfaction helping clients make design changes, often subtle, that make automation possible and efficient. This efficiency happens when the automation and product design teams work closely together from the early concept phase as this allows us to slowly introduce automation as the product matures; automation introduced too early usually delays the product introduction to market.
By understanding requirements, our customers' needs and market, questioning assumptions, and embracing new technology, I look forward to helping our customers deliver better and cost effective products to market with maximum efficiency and minimum risk.
